OK, I am going to show you pics of my most fav place ever. I will not mention the location as it is a secret and I will tell you in person when I see you.....
You are probably thinking you are soooooo silly Trace, BUT there is reasons to my madness. I loved this place so much coz it was such a small quiet untouched by tourism place, that TV shows like Getaway and stuff have NOT found out about yet and blasted the roof off it....
So please enjoy this place as much as I did:
This is my place and all below, no comments necessary. Just take a look.
This was unrise folks.. Yes, are you all impressed? I was up by 6.00am to see the kangaroos on the beach!!!!
This pic was taken from a wee island that is accessed by foot from the mainland when the tide is out. Just gorgeous.
A selfie!!!! We swam with up close and personal with the below green turtles in this lagoon. That was until I saw a sea snake and we bombed out pretty quick after that!!!
Jase is fishing in the back ground boys!!!!
These guys are amazing. I dont have a underwater camera and I was too busy swimming with these guys to take pics with camera so i took a pic from a postcard to show exactly who we swam with.
The girls!!!!
Walked through here and found this below.
Which when we went snorkelling in this lagoon we found:
Amazing corals and fish and once again Turtles that we swam with. They come up for air and spray like whales do out of their noses though, then sink below the water with the tips of their flippers breaking the waters surface. Swam with a mum and baby in this lagoon. Where I am below is where the turtles were.
And that my friends is my fav place ever!!!! It is all within walking distance, no car required.
NEXT, was 1770. The first place Captian Cook landed in QLD.
This pretty much sums it up. This place grew on us. Great fishing (everyone owns a fishing canoe here) , walks and kids played. Tiny town.
No hopefully you are not eating at present! COOOZZZZZZ this little blighter was hiding in my drink bottle all day whilst I was drinking from it!!!!! I asked Jase to refill my bottle and he had a herat attack when he opened my bottle as here was a wee little frog! YEP, guys I drank frog piss n poops all day! Eeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww, arrrrgghhhhhhh. You can imagine me!!!! Luckily we asked about them and they are ok with no poisons etc. Thank Goodness.
The taxi driver!!!
And a gorgeous back seat driver!!!!
The very beautiful Mooloolaba. We love it here so much so think we will make it our annual permanent holiday destination. We have been here several times and each time this place gives us the same feeling and offers so much for our family. Fingers crossed the on shore camp ground has a vacany for us at the end of this holiday. Lazy coffees, great sushi bar, awesome fitness stuff, swimming and local sightseeing. Visited Australia Zoo and Underwater world where kids got a free return passes for the duration of our stay, so guess where we visited again!
Boolabinda near Glenn Innes.
This is a off the road Farm Stay as you can see. We came here to fossick for Sapphires in the local river. Found a few of varying colours, but not great sizes. It was a fantastic spot, soooo quiet, stars from horizon to horizon and fires once again. We loved this spot and the owner was great sowing us how to fossick with some of his equipment out the back.
M with some of the locals!!! This is Tess an awesome old kelpie!
And Tait with some of the more mechanical locals!!! with the farms grandson Sam.
Opppssss Taits driving, he is a wee bit small I guess!!!!
Here he actually is:
You cant actually see how filthy dirty this man is!!! He and Sam got into the mud in the dam and made mud everything!!! So good to see!
Look at this amazing property. Here M is fosicking through something called wash. You dig it up from the river beds, then place into 2 sieves on to of each other. The top has bigger holes than the bottom one. Wash and shake then tip out and sort. M has eagle eyes and spots the most small sparklies!!!!
Finally on our way home. We are at a private Observatory called Tenby at Coonabarabran. We went to a guy called Peter Starr. He has about 10 telescopes and he sets them up at various points of interest through out the sky during the unlimited amount of time you are there. We saw with our naked eye, through different size telescopes:
* Saturn, its rings and its biggest moon (1 of 62!!!)
* Venus
* Uranus
* Red Super Giant star
* Nebulae which are baby stars being born
* Alpha Centauri is actually 2 stars super close together!!!
* Another galaxy nearby to the Milky way
And am sure other stuff but cant remember.........
AMAZING show.
Anyway, its is sadly I say that this is the last of our blog entries as 2 nights from now we will be home and probably seeing you all.
We have had the most special time together. We have learnt to be a family and to get along.
I respect my country and understand that 90% is produce and country folk doing their best and bit for our economy.
I will treasure this time with my children. We thought at the beginning of our trip that our mini 4 man tent will be used for the over nighters, maybe 10 night all up. BUT, we have really loved snuggling up with the kids reading the lifelong stories of Harry Potter and sleeping wrapped up together, then watching them lazily wake up in the mornings.
I will remember as well as my kids, the cubby houses, swings, tree climbing, friends, nature art, swimming, walking, riding, fossicking, shell collecting etc etc etc that kids should be doing today!!!!!!!
